On-device firstApp selections, rules, and detailed usage are designed to be handled on your device.
No data salesReset does not sell or rent personal information or use cross-app advertising tracking.
Your controlYou can revoke permissions, delete local data, and request access to or deletion of server-side information.
01Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the Reset mobile app, related websites, and support services (the “Service”). The controller is Reset (“we,” or “us”). It does not cover independent third-party services, such as Apple’s App Store, which operate under their own policies.
02Information we handle
| Category | Examples | Where / source |
| Screen Time and rules | Apps or categories you restrict, blocking schedules, focus sessions, goals, and settings. | Primarily handled and stored on your device. |
| Purchase information | Product ID, subscription state, expiry, and transaction verification; never full payment-card details. | Handled by Apple, which returns information needed to provide entitlements. |
| Diagnostics | Crash logs, performance data, app version, device model, and OS version. | Received only when you enable developer sharing or submit diagnostics. |
| Support information | Your messages, issue description, screenshots, and other information you choose to send. | Provided when you contact us. |
| Website technical data | IP address, browser type, access time, and basic server logs. | Generated by hosting and security services when you visit this site. |
Not collected by default: Reset does not need your message content, browsing content, passwords, photos, or precise location, and does not create cross-app profiles for advertising.
03Screen Time and app-blocking privacy
Reset uses Apple-provided Screen Time, Family Controls, and Managed Settings capabilities so you can select and restrict apps, websites, or categories. The system may provide opaque identifiers that let your device enforce your rules; these identifiers do not reveal private messages, browsing content, or passwords to us.
Unless you deliberately send it through support, Reset does not upload per-app detailed usage history to our servers. Revoking Screen Time access may stop blocking features from working.
04Why we process information
- To deliver the blocking, scheduling, timer, and focus rules you create;
- to verify purchases, restore subscriptions, and manage Premium access;
- to respond to support requests, diagnose issues, and secure the Service;
- with consent or where permitted, to improve reliability using aggregate or de-identified information; and
- to comply with law, enforce our Terms, and prevent fraud or abuse.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract, your consent, our legitimate interest in providing a safe and reliable Service, or compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
05Sharing, disclosure, and third-party services
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose information only as necessary to:
- Apple for distribution, system permissions, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and optional diagnostics;
- service providers for hosting, security, email support, or diagnostics under confidentiality and security obligations;
- legal and safety recipients when supported by valid legal process or needed to protect users, the public, or Reset; and
- a successor in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to this Policy or equivalent safeguards.
Third parties may process information under their own policies. Reset currently uses Apple for app distribution, system permissions, in-app purchases, subscription verification, and optional diagnostics. If we later use another provider that processes personal information, we will update this Policy.
06Retention and security
On-device data remains until you delete it in the app, uninstall the app, or clear it through system controls. Purchase records are retained as needed to provide subscriptions and meet tax or accounting duties. Support records are ordinarily retained for no more than 24 months after resolution; diagnostics and website security logs ordinarily for no more than 12 months, unless law or a security investigation requires longer.
We use safeguards proportionate to risk, including access controls, encryption in transit, least privilege, and provider review. No electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure.
07Your choices and privacy rights
You can manage Screen Time, notifications, and diagnostic sharing in iOS Settings, manage subscriptions through your Apple ID, and delete local settings in the app. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, receive portable data, withdraw consent, and complain to a regulator without discriminatory treatment.
We may need to verify your identity. For data kept only on your device and inaccessible to us, you must use the app or system controls.
08Children’s privacy
Reset is not directed to children under 9, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Users below the digital-consent age in their region should use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s consent and supervision. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent.
09International transfers
We and our providers may process limited server-side information outside your country. Where required, we use standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or another lawful mechanism with supplementary safeguards. The operator’s primary place of establishment is the People’s Republic of China.
10Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as our product, laws, or security practices change. We will update the date on this page and provide advance in-app or other reasonable notice when a change materially affects your rights.
